Jose Moreno has been involved with athletics for over 20 years. He is the manager of Muscle Under Fitness. He was involved in football, weight lifting and wrestling in high school. He served 3 years in the U.S. Army and excelled in the military physical fitness program. After the military he wrestled professionally for 8 years. While a pro wrestler he also cross- trained in the now popular sport of mixed martial arts. He was forced to retire from professional wrestling due to multiple injuries to the cervical vertebra. After retirement from wrestling he decided to pursue continuing education in kinesiology and physical fitness. He became a trainer so he could help those in need of quality fitness training.Over the last 10 years as a trainer, he has worked with clients as young as 9 and as old as 88. He designs fitness programs to meet his clients needs and integrates resistance, flexibility, balance, circuit, and kinetic training into their routines.He uses his experience and knowledge to motivate his clients to achieve their fitness goals. He holds the following certifications: International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA), National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and is a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES).


Barry Schaffer has been a certified personal trainer for over 12 years. He is certified with A.C.E. (American Council on Exercise). For most of those years he has trained people at Muscle Under. Barry prides himself on having his clients, of all ages, achieve their fitness goals. He does this with a proven exercise routine that incorporates strength and cardio-vascular training along with his positive and exuberant encouragement. Barry is also a nationally ranked distance runner who at one time was sponsored by Reebok. His marathon P.R. is 2 hours 33 minutes (9th place overall) in the 1986 San Diego Mission Bay Marathon. At 62 he defies what is the norm for that age and uses his experience and knowledge to motivate his clients of all ages and to kick start their fitness goals.


Vic Pirnik has been actively involved in fitness, athletics, and coaching most of his life. The University of Akron graduate and ex-football player is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and certified with the National Association of Speed and Explosion. He also holds a master's degree Chapman University. He has experienced years in teaching physical education at the community college level, coaching at the high school and community college level, and as strength and conditioning coach. Vic has published numerous articles on fitness and nutrition.


Byron Bell has been involved with fitness, sports and coaching for over 15 years. From The New England area, Byron participated in football, track and wrestling. After high school, he played football for the University of Massachusetts as a wide receiver/tight end. After college, Byron started training in Amherst, MA where he held the position of Fitness Director at The Club Tennis and Fitness Center of Amherst/Sunderland for 4 years. At this location, he trained female bodybuilders, and also helped clients increase muscle mass, endurance and weight loss.

Byron relocated to Pennsylvania, where he was hired at the The Athletic Club South in State College, PA performing initial assessments for new and pre-existing members and also designing and implementing personalized resistance, cardiovascular, core and balance programs to meet clients needs and goals. For 3 years he was on the panel of judges for the Nittany Lion Classic, a regional bodybuilding event held annually. It was there that he participated in drug-free power-lifting for 5 years, qualifying for national and world competition in the sub-master and master divisions and also coaching lifters for regional power lifting events.

He is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Kinesiology, as part of that degree, he participated in an internship with Penn State football assisting their Strength and Conditioning staff for 4 years, training Division 1 players with some going on to play in the National Football League. Byron not only has experience training athletes, but has also worked with individuals between the ages of 17-80 years of age. He is results oriented and has an inspirational and highly motivational personality to help clients improve stamina and overall conditioning. He brings a combination of experiences; fitness, conditioning, bodybuilding and power lifting to help clients gain/restore strength, while transforming bodies and promoting a health lifestyle.
